Film #25: 'Trick 'r Treat'

In the same way that some films just feel like Christmas ('Elf', 'Die Hard', etc...) "Trick 'r Treat" is a film that just feels like Halloween.

It's a series of short horror movies related by the same setting an overlapping characters, but most of all it's fun! It's fun and it's creepy and it's scary and it just looks great!
If you like horror movies, or just fun movies, then you should watch this. It speaks for itself so much better than writing about it could.
Cast, characters, costumes, are all spot on from story to story. Look at this:

This is before we're supposed to consider these kids creepy, this is at the exact stage in the movie when we are supposed to have sympathy for them.
The film opens in a comic book style, and holds steady riddled with creepy imagery throughout. Add to that a sack-load of dark humour, a great cast, a few great stories that never have a chance to wear-out their great ideas, and this is pretty much required viewing at Halloween.
Enjoy adding it to your annual rotation.

Bonus: Writer/ Director Michael Dougherty's basis and precursor for this film was his own animated short film "Season's Greetings". Enjoy.
